Peter Fox – Leader, Monmouthshire County Council

Peter is married and has 4 grown up children.

He has been a Monmouthshire County Councillor for 19 years. He has been Leader of the Council for almost 9 years and prior to becoming Leader he was the Deputy Leader with responsibility for Education. He currently holds the portfolio for the Council’s Strategic Development together with responsibility for Whole Council Performance. From 2008 to 2012 he was the Welsh Local Government Spokesperson for Lifelong Learning and Skills and currently holds the position of Spokesperson for ICT and Digital inclusion.

He was a Ministirial appointment to the Cardiff Capital Region Board and currently holds the position of Vice Chairman of the CCR Transitional Panel, a ministerial appointed panel in place to oversee the development of the Cardiff Capital Region. Peter also holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Cardiff Capital Region Shadow Cabinet holding the City Deal portfolio of Innovation, Digital and Business.

Peter also runs a Livestock farm in the south of Monmouthshire.
